On-Demand Training Justification

3 key needs this On-Demand training has been developed to meet are:

1) OSHA training and record-keeping requirements:

OSHA believes that training is an essential part of every employer’s safety and health program for protecting workers from injuries and illnesses. A key question in any incident investigation is, "Did the employee receive adequate training to safely do the job?" Supporting records should include the names and job titles of personnel completing the training, the dates of training completion, a summary of the contents, the names and qualifications of the persons conducting the training, and when retraining is required (if necessary). These records should be maintained for a minimum of 3 years from when the training occurred. "Training Requirements in OSHA Standards" (https://www.osha.gov/sites/default/files/publications/osha2254.pdf)

gives more training and record-keeping guidance.

2) Reducing workplace incidents and injuries:

This training will improve both the knowledge of workplace safety hazards and the control measures that can

be taken to reduce the occurrence of incidents and/or injuries related to these hazards.

3) Enabling worker participation, evaluation, and improvement:

Feedback and participation questions that are part of the training records include:

->"How effective were the reading, video, and quiz to improve your understanding and knowledge of the

workplace hazards and their control measures?"

->"Do you have any suggestions to improve this training?"

->"Do you have any suggestions to help make your workplace safer? Consider adding/improving procedures,

training, or equipment that focus on specific safety hazards."
